Exhibition, Oral History & Publication: 1948 was the last time the Olympics was held in London. The contrast is stark; London was recovering from war, athletes weren’t paid, were training on rations whilst working full-time and most had to hand sew their own kits. During the past few years, Katherine has been meeting with, photographing and recording interviews with the British Olympic Team from the 1948 Olympics. The exhibition is supported by Arts Council England.
Images and audio will be part of an exhibition at Hackney Museum from 29 May – 20 October 2012, and exhibitions run elsewhere in the UK, see Katherine’s website for further details.
The book publication 1948 Olympians is available for crowd funding at Unbound – you can help make the book happen by pledging your support.
