Hampstead Photographic Society, northwest London’s premier amateur photography group, is celebrating its 75th Anniversary by staging a major exhibition of current members’ work, including by LIP Members David Reed, Chris Burrows and Carole Rawlinson.
More than 70 recent pictures created by over 30 of the Society’s members will be on display, with images from India, Spain, Iceland, Seattle and Crouch End, and subjects ranging from street photography to still-life; from magnificent and moody landscapes to beautiful wildlife images; from quirky abstracts to classic portraits – superb examples of most genres of photography as created by some of the society’s talented and skilled image makers. Many of the works are for sale, giving you the chance to acquire a unique piece of photographic art.
The exhibition coincides with the publication of a history of the society written by Michael Howell, available as a CD or in book form via www.lulu.com.
Founded in 1937 by a small group of enthusiasts living in the Hampstead area, HPS has had a dynamic history. Our members are united by one thing: an interest in photography, and no special skills are required. Just turn up at a meeting and see if it is what you need or could enjoy. Meetings are every Tuesday from 8.00 to 10.00pm from September to June in Hampstead Parish Church, Church Row, Hampstead NW3 6UU. If you would like more details of our activities please visit our website: www.hampsteadphotosoc.org.uk or call Chairman David Reed on 020 7722 2907
