What will be presented is not merely a show of several individuals’ work but rather a full collaboration that will show a body of work created together, with “Home” as the theme. Altering the familiar concept of the “white cube” exhibition space into a “personalized space,” this exhibition aims to explore the possibility of presenting works by different artists as one collective achievement, without individual’s name tags and artist’s statements. Further, to investigate what “group exhibition”, “collaboration”, “collective” and “home” mean and how these ideas and concepts can be presented in the gallery space. A new approach to curating a group exhibition.
The Crossing Lines satellite group of LIP is a collaboration with Goldsmiths Centre for Urban and Community Research with a serious interest in the urban environment, its citizens, communities, and more.
