This is the debut exhibition from East End photography collective LDNtwentyfour7 – comprising Craig Stevenson, Emma Marshall, John Stead, Jonathan Goldberg, Kathryn Geels and Roland Ramanan.
Serving since 1974, Beigel Bake Brick Lane bakery has built up a loyal band of customers who flock from all over London, as well as a large number of international tourists. They come seeking a taste of beigels baked fresh in the traditional Jewish style. In a world of pop-ups and fast changing fads, Beigel Bake’s long-standing presence has become part of its popular appeal.
Throughout 2015, the collective has been gracing Brick Lane’s famous bakery with their lenses. Shooting a series of twenty-four images of people visiting the ’24/7′ institution around the clock, capturing portraits of local characters, epicures, tourists, midnight snackers, eating-on-the-goers and morning-after-the-night-before revellers.
