The 2011 exhibition ran from the 18th – 29th October at The Strand Gallery, in the heart of the West End. This year there were a record number of submissions from LIP members. The work was independently selected by Bridget Coaker (picture editor at Guardian Newspaper Group & Director of Troika Editions) and Mick Williamson (head of Photography at London Metropolitan University). The impartial selection process is key to the exhibition’s success, as every LIP member has an equal chance of selection. This year over 130 photographs will be on display and they showcase the diversity and extraordinary breadth of talent within the LIP membership. THE STRAND GALLERY is just moments from Trafalgar Square and is one of Europe’s most popular private photographic galleries with previous exhibitions such as Let it Bleed: The Rolling Stones 1969 U.S. Tour by Ethan Russell, Eltonography by Terry O’Neill, The Libertines by Roger Sargent and Bob Dylan by Jerry Schatzberg. |
