Cassandra Vervoort

I am a student in my 3rd and final year at University for the Creative Arts (UCA) studying BA Hons Photography and Media Arts.

For me photography is a medium, which can be used to document and question situations that I come across in my life. By using narrative or allegorical process to mainly stage my photographs, which are influenced by my experiences.

I predominately base my work on personal experiences using the curiosity these events create as the drive for producing my work.

Wanting my images to be as accessible to my audience as possible, by being on a life size scale, to try and encourage this personal interaction between the audience, my images and the idea I am aiming to communicate.

My images are a representation of an event, almost never a true account. I will usually aspire to capture images which make statements, often challenging people?s perceptions of certain ideologies or conventions, sometimes of obscene circumstances or to test our ability to interact in alternative ways with objects or situations we come across.
