Since turning my attention to photography as recently as three years ago, I have been exploring many concepts with various cameras formats ? old, new and hand-made ? to define my work and to know myself as an image maker.

My current project seeks to create desirable and highly ambiguous images from photos of found waste, which I can only presume have been carelessly tossed aside at the kerb-side and found its way into our water channels (in this instance, the Regent's Canal, London). The title 'Out of the loop' refers to waste material that will neither compost or safely biodegrade into the natural environment. It's my alternative take on urban photography, by focussing on the small, often disregarded details which can have a great impact on our local environment, whether urban or rural.
