LIP Greenwich Satellite Meeting – November

Next meeting: November 20 7-9pm The Greenwich Gallery.

Astrid Schulz will be showing images and talking about her Blind Spot project (exhibited at our June exhibition).

This led on to the suggestion that we could take a theme for the evening Portraits. Subsequent conversation suggested that we should read the theme widely: portraits need not be posed, could also be from those photographs taken for other purposes; they need not show the face. A portrait should be of an animate being and indicate personality, mood, intention, action, feeling… (This is probably not uncontentious.)

There could be the opportunity to show images off the theme, so bring them along, too.

Something else entirely: Exhibition at the Bargehouse Tower on the Southbank. The FREE PAINTERS AND SCULPTURS group have installed a fantastice exhibition of multi genre /multi media artworks from small sketches to whole room installations involving light and sound and ‘dance’. Great opportunities for creative photography and for gasping at the creativity of artists. Details here: https://www.oxotower.co.uk/whats-on/. It is on until nxt Sunday, 10th Nov. so hurry. Barry Cole
