The committee are delighted to announce that they have awarded Mick Williamson Honorary Life Membership of LIP.
Mick was in charge of the Photography Section, Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design, retiring to pursue his personal photographic interests in 2018. He has been a friend and supporter of LIP for very many years and has given us workshops, reviewed members’ portfolios, and selected work for LIP exhibitions. He was instrumental in establishing the joint talks programme between LIP and London Metropolitan University (Sir John Cass) and that relationship continues today in association with his successor.
Mick is friendly and approachable, a fund of much oral photographic history, and, if you are fortunate enough to have him look at your work, can be relied upon to offer insightful comments which are always supportive and delivered with a smile.
