Putney Group – February Update

Fabulous turn out this month, so well done everyone. Sorry if anyone felt slightly cramped – until our exhibition is over it’s probably going to be like this. The alternative is we find a local hall, which besides the cost that we would need to fund, the feeling of the members the last time we visited this topic was that we would lose the friendly/homely atmosphere if we were to change, so happy to keep it as it is for the time being. Please let me know what you think.

To start the meeting off we looked at some storm pictures posted online, then turned to the short list for The Sony Photographer of the Year award.

Our theme this month was ‘Vanishing Points’ – it was interesting to see that one or two of the group quite independently plumped for the same subjects (The Millennium Bridge by Tate Modern for instance), but it was nice to see how differently they handled this subject.

Exhibition Update:
– Entitled A Day in The Life of Putney
– We are confirmed as part of the Wandsworth Arts Festival Fringe event
– Dates, the 16th, 17th and 18th May in the Exchange in Putney

Our theme for next month is ‘Atmosphere’ – which is most intriguing and I look forward to seeing what people come up with for this topic.
