I began the meeting in regular fashion by taking a look at what I’d found online this month – for topical reasons I thought some snow pictures would be very appropriate
I then featured a video blog from Mark Hemmings, who runs an international photography school online – he speaks quite well and although his themes in this video are very familiar, its good to have them underwritten from time to time.
We then moved onto this month’s theme, Scene from a Book. I wondered how people might tackle this and we were all rewarded by a vast variety of ideas. I think going by the audible gasps in the room, this month’s stand out image will have to be Paul’s, wow is the only description. Just to clarify for everyone, the birds are actually in the glass!
We then heard from our invited speaker, Charles Gervais, who entertained us brilliantly with a trawl through some of his portraiture and then finished up showing us some of his amazing time-lapse photography.
There was then just time to come up with a theme for next month – Silhouettes
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 17th April and I look forward to catching up with you all then. (Andrew Wllson).
