Good to see everyone on Tuesday and what a night it turned out to be, the highlight for me being Nigel’s wonderful series of shots taken in Namibia back in November. Definitely a destination for the bucket list – three chosen here to show you what you missed – boy what a treat and thanks again Nigel for taking the trouble. If anyone else would like to share a photographic experience they have had, old or new, please let me know – sorry it has to be such a hard act to follow!
I started the meeting by bringing everyone up to date on our search for a disability friendly venue for our meetings – The Coach & Horses are clearly not interested as they applied loads of conditions including a cost. So I have asked the local town centre manager, who I know, if she could suggest anywhere? I will keep you all posted as to my progress.
After looking at my finds of the month, we moved on to our theme, Queues, and I’m not sure why we agreed to do this one, anyway some of you proved it could be done and the standouts for me – John’s queue at the bus stop (all on phones – bizarre but a sign of the times), Julian’s nice shot from Putney Bridge (blast, why didn’t I think of that – or even shared again my shot of 15 buses on Putney Bridge?) and Paul’s bike (nice angle Paul).
With us being a Putney group and this being the season for rowing (The Head of the River 30th March and the Boat race 7th April), I thought ‘The River’ should be our theme for the next month, which ought to prove a little less challenging and more fun in the bargain.
We then wrapped up the evening with a look at Nigel’s pictures – brilliant!
For next month, please note that our meeting will be on 23rd April at 7.30pm. Andrew Wilson
