Quentin Ball: The Silent City, Photographs of London at Rest

    Quentin Ball

Quentin Ball writes, “The night before, the anticipation kicks in. I wake early-the sky is still dark, but changing quickly with the approaching day. No time to waste! The adrenaline starts to flow. I grab an energy a coffee, waiting camera bag and am out the door and into London. There I am in a still, virgin day, with countless possibilities. All around is the majestic city-silent, but glowing in the dawn light with just the occasional jogger or rubbish lorry as my companions. It is a magical time to be out with my camera. How quickly the magic fades… suddenly there are buses, people, cars, and London is awake again. Time to head home for breakfast and to process the film.”
