Our cities, a seamless collage of corporate spaces containing the most ambitious architecture, the most powerful companies and indeed the most sought after postcodes/ zip codes in the world. But in our current climate, as the economic viability of these spaces diminish, what factors remain to define them, are they merely reduced to commercial hinterlands? Ideas concerning re-use and re-thinking spaces are called into question. This exhibition simply titled “Out Of Space” attempts to examine this issue of space and looks at what remains when the purpose or perception of a space is disturbed. Often undefined, visceral, intangible, and unquantifiable, it is the psychological elements of a space which are brought into play as these London based artists each take a dramatically different and personal approach to the subject matter.
Ellie Davies exhibits alongside Pedro Alvarez, Faction, Kristy Gosling, Richard Kolker and Barry Woods.
