First Impressions’ is a solo exhibition of black and white hand prints by Joe Bowes.
David Hurn once said on being a photographer what is really important: The need for a good pair of shoes and the fact that a photograph is made by where you stand and when you release the shutter, not in a computer. First Impressions is based on this foundation, in that whilst surveying an area it is your first impression of a scene that stops you and makes you investigate the possibilities that lie in front of you. This first impression is quite often the last impression that makes it to print, with a little fine tuning of course.
