No Ma is a photographic portrait project about women who have not been mothers and are certain they will never be, no matter the reason. Can the No Maternity generate a certain feeling of lack of bodily/ personal achievement? On the contrary, what is the potential for women in having a life and an identity detached from motherhood? The images will be presented together with texts from these women’s accounts about how they feel and make sense of not being mothers.
