London Independent Photography 25th Annual Exhibition

22 OCTOBER - 3 NOVEMBER 2013 Welcome to London Independent Photography’s milestone 25th Annual Exhibition! Each year this is the highlight of our group's calendar - a must-see event for anyone interested and involved with photography in London. Our 2013 exhibition ran 22nd October - 3rd November at The Strand Gallery, located in the heart of the West End. This year we received approximately 800 submissions from LIP members, with 108 images accepted for exhibition from 65 photographers. The prints were selected by Francis Hodgson, Colin Pantall and Roelof Bakker, and showcase the extraordinary diversity and breadth of talent within our group. The impartial selection process is key to the exhibition’s success, as every LIP member has an equal chance to exhibit. |

About the Selectors
FRANCIS HODGSON, photography writer for the Financial Times, is also a consultant on various aspects of photography to a wide roster of clients. He is a co-founder of the Prix Pictet, the world's richest photographic prize, upon the executive of which he also sits. www.francishodgson.com
COLIN PANTALL is a journalist and photographer, and Senior Lecturer on Documentary Photography at the University of Newport. He writes on a wide range of subjects, and his work has appeared in publications including Time, The Independent, Aperture Magazine, Photo-Eye and The British Journal of Photography. www.colinpantall.com
ROELOF BAKKER is a London-based photographer using processes and structures that present limits to conduct research into concepts of life, time and mortality – usually within a specified time period or physical space, and often with a sense of humour present. He also enjoys taking portraits. He runs Negative Press London which published Still, a literary art book mixing new short fiction by 26 international writers with photographs that were the inspiration. Bakker’s video work Wanderlust has been shown in London, Cheltenham and Roanoke, Virginia.
