3. Help and Advice
If you are preparing to submit work to the LIP Annual Exhibition, this guidance will help you present your entry correctly and provide all necessary information.
Choosing work to submit
The entire selection process is designed to be as fair as possible so we do not tell you what kind of work to submit, and indeed the selectors work completely independently of LIP in making their decisions.
Photographic works - The best advice in choosing photographs is for them to be innovative and original, take time to make your choice.
If a member is not working with digital files (ie. with print and film only), contact the Exhibition Organiser for details about the best way to submit your work.
Deadlines
Make a note of delivery dates and ensure that you submit your Entry Form before midnight, Friday 2nd August.
Uploading Images - Format and Size Specification
Your digital submission will be viewed on a computer screen. Please ensure that you upload image files strictly in accordance with the the specifications given above.
If you are not familiar with preparing or resizing digital image files please feel free to email the Web Editor for advice.

Final Print Presentation
Check that your prints are of good quality as the prints you submit should be those you intend to exhibit.
Framed or mounted work
Ensure your print is sized correctly, a maximum of 61cm on the longest side and mounted on PVC board (Foamex) or
framed in black, white or grey with the longest side a maximum of 61cm including the frame
Espacio Gallery has a specific hanging method which must be followed for all work to be hung.
If mounting your work on PVC board (Foamex) then it is compulsory to have batten attached on the back with 2 D-rings for hanging. Please make sure the space between the ring and the top edge of the work is about 7cm.
If you are using frames it is also mandatory to attach 2 D-rings onto the back of each work frame, placed about 7cm from the top edge of the frame. Learn more in Espacio Gallery's installation brochure. This year plate hangers will not be accepted for use in the exhibition.
If you do not follow these rules correctly, it will be impossible to hang and exhibit your work. We do not take any responsibility if you fail to meet these rules.
Packaging & Labels
Package your prints professionally and with care. We strongly recommend using sturdy plastic art sleeves and a portfolio case.
Ensure all your prints and packaging are correctly and clearly labelled. The packaging and each print submitted must have the following information clearly displayed on the back:
Name & LIP Membership Number
Title
Contact details (address, email, and phone number)
To ensure that the selection process remains completely anonymous please do not write your name on the front of the print or mount.
WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR WORK WILL BE CONSIDERED IF THIS INFORMATION IS NOT PROVIDED
