I have been taking photos and printing them since I was 14 and had several exhibitions and a number of portrait commissions over the years whilst doing it as a hobby. I worked in B&W and used Nikon equipment but 15 years ago switched to a Leica M6, which was a revelation. At the tender age of 55 having spent most of my life working as an engineer and project manager, I took the plunge in 2005 and went digital and professional using a Fuji Fine Pix S5 Pro, with an emphasis on portraiture and fashion in the magazine, commercial, corporate, editorial and private fields.
I really like working with digital and find RAW files give me an astounding amount of detail and nuance to work with which contributes to the vivid contemporary style which has become my trademark. I have found that since controlling colour is now as easy as controlling B&W since going digital, my colour photography has blossomed.
