I need some advice about scanning. I have an archive of many b/w negatives which I have started to scan in order to put them on the web, and print etc. I have been using the Imacon 949 at Photofusion but given the large number of negs I've got and the long term nature of this endeavour it is going to be very expensive. I wonder if it is worth buying something like a Nikon Coolscan 9000 (I have 35mm and 6X9 formats). Does anyone have any experience of this who can advise me? Might there be a possibility of LIP members collectively buying a good scanner that can be shared?

It would be nice if another member has a neg scanner and they would be willing to rent for a week or so maybe.
