LIP member Yoke Matze is preparing for the Hampshire Artists Open Studios running from 26th August – 4th September 2006.
Open studios are a growing phenomenon across Britain. Events range from one off weekend openings by individual artists and makers to full scale events involving hundreds of artists. This movement is growing in strength across Britain; and reflects not only the enormous wealth of artistic talent across the country, but also a love of eccentricity and individuality.
The idea of an Open Studio is that established artists and first time exhibitors will have work on show and for sale with the benefit of direct selling. Visitors have the unique experience of meeting the artists, and maybe watching them giving demonstrations or holding workshops.
