Living Lockdown

LIP member Sean McDonnell has turned his lockdown images into a zine called Living Lockdown to raise money for Ealing Foodbank.
Having practiced street photography in London’s West End for many years lockdown meant he had to turn his attention to his own neighbourhood.

The resulting images are a document of the way our daily lives became crowded with the visual signs of lockdown. Garden walls became displays of unwanted belongings. Chalk marks on pavements made a comeback. Personal messages from shopkeepers on their windows told their own stories of loss.

Sean says “The idea for a book to raise money for my local foodbank seemed the least I could do. Like all London boroughs Ealing has its share of deprivation, now at a critical level as a result of the pandemic.”
