Our last monthly meeting’s theme was Space and as usual there were many different interpretations of the concept: strange objects in unexpected places in an ‘Outer Space’ project, the different ways in which public space is used in London and Calcutta, the sense of personal space in public places, the interaction between people in a space, space as a kind of theatrical stage, space viewed through screens, the scales of different types of space, illusions of space distorted by glass and shadows, the different perspective of the world viewed from the negative space underneath furniture, confined or enclosed space, space extending over great distances, the idea of space being activated by the human figure. Here are just a few of the images shown.

Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday 9th October at 18.45 at the usual venue – The Artworkers Guild, 6 Queens Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3AT. There will be no theme to the meeting. Instead there will be six 15-minute slots for presenting considered projects under way, nearing completion or in early days, and calling for serious discussion. To book a slot email peter.luck@waitrose.com with a brief (25 word) indication of the nature of the project. If more than six are brought to the meeting, we will run another similar to consider those held over. Prints or digital images on a memory stick please.

We will also devote some time to discussing the shape of our future programme of meetings.
