Thank you to everyone who came. We started the meeting with a look at the lengths that Sony went to promote their latest TV – the 4K. What might this have to do with photography? Quite a lot as it turns out. In order to ‘capture the moment’ every photographer has to consider many things – a combination of careful planning, good imagination, equipment, colour appreciation, weather and the list goes on. In the short film that was made to show how the advert was created, all of these things were demonstrated. Besides being a visual feast it was an excellent reminder to us all what we should do the next time we want to ‘capture the moment’.

When going about our ‘planning’ the weather can sometimes play a large part plus the position of the sun and James was kind enough to let us know that there is an APP to help here – Light Trac – which lets you know the phases of the sun and moon for any location.

Our theme this month was ‘fast’ and thank you to everyone who brought along their contributions; I have attached pictures from Karen and Angela, which besides being excellent examples of their craft, also demonstrate the variety on offer.

Although we don’t have a meeting this month we still set a theme, which is ‘Christmas Decoration’ – slightly lacking in imagination but may be we were all bit tired and I look forward to seeing you all in January with your Christmas Pixels. For a future theme Angela suggested Double Exposure and in order to best demonstrate what she means, she said she’d come along next time with some examples and pass on her thoughts on the best methods to use.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday January 15th at 7pm and I look forward to seeing you all then.
