Thanks for coming out on a cold and dark February evening and again a good turnout. We had a special guest, Peter Luck, who was present representing the wider LIP group and was here to discover a little bit more about who we are and what we do.

As well as our regular theme, we took a closer look at the entries, commendations and winners from this year’s Kew International Garden Photographer of the Year, which have just been released. This is a popular competition with some strong entries.

Our theme this month was ‘Low Light’ and we had a large and diverse number of pictures to look at (see above). This tends to the most popular part of the evening and it’s good that people feel comfortable enough to critique other people’s work and this month was no exception.

Our exhibition this year is on a theme of ‘Food’, it was confirmed that the weekend of 13/14/15 May is booked with The Exchange in Putney. Topics will include ‘Where does our food come from’ (so farms, farming, livestock, crops and the country etc); ‘Still life and ingredients’ (vegetables, meat, fish etc); and ‘People and cooking’ (chefs, restaurants, farmers markets, etc).

Our next meeting is Tuesday March 15th at the usual time and our theme will be ‘Phone Pics’ – contentious or what! I have great fun with my phone and I hope you will too. ~ AW aw@unity-publishing.co.uk
