At our November meeting we spent some time discussing our recent participation in the Borough of Ealing Art Trail (BEAT) – and the report by member Richard Baker-Donnelly who attended the BEAT after-discussion. Our consensus was that being part of the Art Trail had increased footfall to our exhibition considerably. Several visitors expressed interest in LIP, and some have become members. We look forward to participating again in 2018!

We briefly discussed the Artisan exhibition which is going well so far. The second group now have their work on display and the last group will be on from early December. Do pop in to Artisan, New Broadway, Ealing – see the current display and sample their delicious coffee and pastries.

Several people brought work (and books) along to share and this is a sample.

Edmond Terakopian had brought along a series of colour images taken during three days in October. These were taken around Brick Lane. The two images shown here have a common thread of illumination; the burger van and the lady with the smartphone in a bar.

With Tokyo: ancient and modern, Sean McDonnell found a perfect opportunity to use old and new photography techniques this summer. First some traditional street photography using black and white 35mm film, then some new work using a 360 camera. This is something relative new for Sean and he is keen to make contact with other LIP members interested in 360^o photography.

Frankie McAllister took these on a recent walk along the Southbank. The fabulous afternoon light and big turbulent skies of this time of year lend the familiar landmarks and skyline a bit of extra drama and colour.

And finally, Chris Moxey showed us some of her holiday snaps from a visit to Norfolk during the summer.

Thanks to everyone for bringing along books and photos. Because we’ve been so busy in recent months, particularly with exhibitions, our book-making evening has been postponed until February. If you’re interested in taking part just bring along a book you’ve made – it can be home-made, blurbed, large, small, fat, thin, whatever… and be as creative as you like. We’ll share and discuss our processes/methods!

It’s customary that in December we have a Christmas meal together instead of our usual meeting, so the next ‘formal’ meeting will be at 7.30pm on January 9th at The Forester, 2 Leighton Road, Ealing W13 9EP.
