It was good to see everyone and I was glad to hear everyone enjoyed themselves over the Christmas and New Year period.
Having welcomed in the New Year I started proceedings with a look at some photography from north of the border ‘some winter walks’– some great stuff here.

I then took the opportunity of introducing a new idea. We all look forward to particular times of the year and some of the things we’d like to do, repeat or new places to visit? At this time of year, we normally get a few cold, crisp mornings and they are wonderful things to capture. We are surrounded by some amazing places, Richmond Park and Bushy Park to name but two and despite the cold, I love this time of year. The sun is very low and as you wander around, this creates some great street photography/long shadow opportunities. So I shared with everyone some of my past moments and what I was looking forward to doing this year. Please think about what gets your juices flowing and let me know what you like to share with everyone .
We then moved onto our theme of the month. There was a great variety on show and if I had to pick a favourite it would probably be Matt’s Snow Globe, such fun and although sadly no longer with us, I did enjoy James’s Christmas Cat.
The theme next month will be ‘moody’ and our meeting will be held on Tuesday 18 February at 7.30pm.
All the best AW
