Good to see everyone the other night, a good turn out as usual.

I started the meeting with a quick look at a couple of things that had caught my eye over the internet and then brought members up to date with our planned December Exhibition.
To remind everyone, we are collaborating with The Putney Business Improvement District (BID) and undertaking an advent calendar style outdoor exhibition, where we will display pictures across 24 vacant shops in Putney. A big thank you to Nicola at BID for helping us pay for it. The theme will be ‘Positively Putney’.
We then moved onto our theme for the month, which was ‘six’ and some great stuff from everyone; stand outs for me would be Bill’s, Juliette’s and I particularly enjoyed Katie’s 6 tomatoes.
Although one or two members had sent me theme suggestions for next month, for which thank you (I will keep these in mind for the future), I put forward one of my own, which I thought very different. I wish people to go away and take stills off their tablets or phones from their favourite films for show and tell next month, emphasis on the tell please, why you love this image etc. One of my favourites films is North By Northwest, starring Cary Grant and having seen it many many times I still see new things each time – it was on again this month and if you know the film I was struck by the image as he is escaping the UN building having just witnessed a killing – I love the extraordinary angle and the wonderful abstract nature of the elements. Anyway, please go away and see what you can come up with for next time.
Next months meeting will be on Tuesday 17 November – cheers AW.
