URBAN PHOTOGRAPHY

Variously interpreted by Peter Luck, Tony Othen, Kathryn Alkins and Barry Cole

Perer’s photographs of central Dartford in Kent presented a view of a village on the Roman road of Watling Street which a century ago became a town.   The narrow streets aroung the town centre comprise main two up two down houses mostly probably built in the late 1800s with a scattering of older and more recent buildings.

Kathryn showed images of the candlelit interior of Southwark Cathedral aand her re-interprtations of vies of Greenwich from across the Thames

Tony sent in his contribution from France where he’d dipped into the detail of French life by photographing the door sign address plates of houses and flats.

Barry offered a slightly different view of urban photography by focusing on the urban photographers themselves; their equipment their practice, their variety…
