The theme for this month was Geometry, and 18 people presented their work.

© Dorota Boisot

Dorota showed close-up images of plants, mainly in Lanzarote, highlighting their symmetries and fractal patterns.

© Jan Cylwik

Jan presented a single image of an ice cloud partially-refracted into a rainbow, with the Koh-i-Noor diamond drawn in CAD and superimposed, fracturing the cloud in each facet.

© Rashida Mangera

Rashida presented a range of man-made geometric shapes, from Islamic art and architecture to a Chinese garden in Vancouver and colourful art installations in London.

© Prodeepta Das

Prodeepta contrasted natural geometry in leaves and a spider’s web with new architecture in London and art in Paris.

© Andy Schneider

Andy found structured geometry in a highly-developed area of Sydney, the translucent windows of a swimming pool and an electrical substation.

© Alec Wylie

Alec photographed buildings and empty streets and passages in Shoreditch and Bethnal Green, and man-made features on the shores of Canvey Island.

© Astrid Zweynert

Astrid captured the interplay of light and shapes in a Paris apartment block, Brixton market, Tate Modern and residential developments in south London.

© Austin Guest

Austin photographed London architecture, including South Bank brutalism, Tate Modern brick patterns, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Heal’s furniture store.

© Janet Nabney

Janet showed light patterns, Victorian houses distorted by glass and shutters, and closely-packed scaffolding.

© Hady Bayoumi

Hady matched design features in Istanbul airport and New York, curved shapes in Somerset House and tube stations, and bold colours in other urban settings.

© Edith Templeton

Edey captured angles and curves in Victoria Street office buildings and the front of Westminster Cathedral.

© Robin Barr

Robin presented angular cladding on car parks in Sheffield and Leeds, similarly-angled windows in Paris apartments and curves within a Helsinki staircase and a Manchester office building.

© Nusse Mechthild Belton

Nusse found complementary arches in a stone passage and structured glass and metal elements within City office buildings and the roof of King’s Cross station.

© Sue Czapska

Sue showed a short video featuring Mondrian’s Boogie Woogie paintings alongside sounds from busy streets.

© Sukhy Hullait

Sukhy revealed an old selfie and the scene of a personal memory, along with an gallery chair and a monochrome scene in a misty Peckham Rye park.

© Heather Martin

The meeting closed with images from three personal projects. Heather turned her attention to street photography and presented images of Brixton market stalls and shops, and people in busy settings in Covent Garden and Islington.

© David Mooney

David produced his output from a weekend project in North Devon, photographing patterns of rivulets and crocodile ripples on beaches and compiling them with text into a printed book.

© Eva Turrell

Eva showed images from outside and within a beachside bandstand in Brighton, with different outlooks and weather framed in each new direction. These will be printed and shown at the Crouch End exhibition (details below).

Finally the meeting was reminded of the forthcoming Crouch End LIP Annual Exhibition, at Hornsey Library from 21st March until 2nd April with a PV on Thursday 23rd March.
