Dear All

Good to see everyone and thankfully the weather has improved – the only plus being that after dropping off Katie I parked up and wandered into Putney for some impromptu wet street shots, which was fun.

I started the meeting with a look at the Sony Awards and with a nod to our theme this month, some wonderful glass pictures.

Then with the help of Rodney, we moved onto our theme of the month, ‘glass’. There was a lot of creativity on show.

My top pick was James Kirkland – Reflected in Chihuly
On brief, visually very attractive with great depth and colour, wonderfully mysterious, showed lots of imagination to come up with this fascinating image.

Well done, James, the room reacted rather like Rodney did to your picture, so well done – a lovely piece of work.

For next month – looking at the Sony Awards, I was very taken with the story telling on show and I thought we should stretch ourselves this month. Can everyone go away and take 3 pictures that work together to reflect something you are passionate about – whether that be to protest about something, flag up an injustice, champion something – hopefully you get the picture (ha ha) – only 3 please and lets have some fun.

Our meeting next month will be at the usual time etc. on 18 June.
