Rod Morris studied at the London College of Printing on the Postgraduate course in Photojournalism. He is an award-winning photographer and film maker and his films have been shown at festivals around the world and broadcast in Sweden, Russia, France and Italy.Morris’ work has been published in the national press, and he has exhibited widely at venues such as the Photographers Gallery, Royal Festival Hall, The Zelda Cheatle Gallery, Focus Gallery, Camerawork and Photofusion Gallery.Morris leads the film company Roadfactoryfilms which produces documentaries, music videos, and fiction films on a wide variety of themes and genres for a diverse range of clients across the creative spectrum. He and his family are now based in Hastings and his company produces work exploring the lives of the individuals behind events that make up the bigger picture, giving voice to their unique stories.Rod Morris’s beautifully crafted photography books include Flight; atmospheric images of stairs from around the world, Museum; photographs from the five main London museums, Runaway; stories related to journeys, both real and imagined, and my personal favourite, Menagerie; a collection of photographs of animals accumulated over many years.”Many of Morris’ photographs have a filmic quality and one feels as if one were actually present where the photographer once stood. His work is about narrative. It seems that each photograph is a still film, if that were possible, as plots and short stories are suggested.”
