Photowalk – Lesser-known Bankside

Sunday, November 19 at 11:00: Lesser-known Bankside wheelchair accessible photowalk.

It’s not all about Borough Market, as you will discover on this varied walk with Eve Milner through one of London’s most vibrant areas. You’ll see cutting edge street art in the Leake Street tunnel, walk along lively Lower Marsh and feast your eyes on the EV “green” walkway. Discover the Roupell Street Conservation Area, an intact survivor of early 19th century housing in an area that has been heavily modernised. The Redcross & Whitecross cottages and gardens are an early example of C19th social housing. We will also catch a glimpse of the Crossbones Memorial Garden, believed to be the last resting place of an estimated 15,000 ‘outcast dead’, many of whom were sex workers and children.

Meet at 11:00 under the big clock on the main concourse of Waterloo Mainline Station, and finish at Borough Market at 1:30.
