Fluids by Karolina Maria Dudek

Project explores the unity among women through the powerful symbols of blood and bodily fluids, examining their role as connections and shared experiences within both intimate domestic spaces and broader societal contexts. It delves into the interplay between the body, its fluids, and the relationships they forge, creating evocative visual narratives that challenge conventional perceptions and invite reflection on what unites us on a primal and human level. Framed within the home—often seen as a space of routine and convention—this exploration reveals the raw, visceral aspects of human existence, turning everyday rituals into profound testimonies of life’s cycles. Extending beyond the domestic sphere, the work confronts societal norms that sanitise or misunderstand bodily expressions, urging viewers to reconsider the stigma and see the body’s natural, dynamic form as a reflection of our collective humanity—symbolising life, loss, strength, and unity. By thoughtfully examining these intrinsic connections, the project aims to break down barriers, foster dialogue, and inspire a deeper appreciation for the shared, universal experiences that define our humanity.
