I think of it as photographs of everyday life where the unnoticed photographer seems to have just wandered by and gone ‘Click’.
Of course, it’s much more complicated and vastly more time-consuming than that but, to me, that’s the essence of it.
Artists and writers can rearrange everything and even describe something that never happened. Street photographers can’t do that. For us, the moment must actually happen and we have to be in the right place at the right moment to capture it. It involves a lot of hard work and a little good fortune.
So, go on, take the artist for a walk.
